Are you looking to embrace the electric revolution by providing a car charging point at your business?
With companies making the switch to electric cars for their company vehicles, and staff also following suit to save on the cost of petrol or diesel, more electric vehicles are on the road than ever, and this number is growing daily.
Making sure you and your staff have convenient access to an EV charger is paramount if you wish to save both time and money. The current infrastructure of public chargers cannot keep up with the demand, and why should you wait in a queue to keep your motor powered? That’s why business owners are taking control of the situation and having EV chargers installed at their workplace.
As commercial EV charger installers in Scotland, we can provide advice on which electric car charger is most suited to your requirements. Whether you’re looking for a dual charger or multiple chargers installed at your workplace to provide staff and managers access with charging facilities, or if you wish to install dual charging points in a car park you own and manage for the paying public to use, we have a charger to suit you.
At ElectroPoint, we offer a free site survey and can provide a no-obligation quote for having a commercial charging point installed at your business premises. Our experienced technician will assess the site and be able to give you recommendations and prices for EV chargers suitable for your needs.

The charging points we supply for businesses work with most models of electric cars on the UK roads today.
With the choice of Type 2 tethered or untethered socket chargers, we can help you decide which is the right charger for your business.
The commercial EV chargers are suitable for most motor manufacturers, including Ford, BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Kia, Nissan, Smart, and Tesla.
The commercial Myenergi Zappi EV charger provides 22kW (3-ph) power output, making it the charger of choice for those who require fast-charging capabilities.
Available tethered or un-tethered, these single Zappi EV chargers can be attached on a wall interior or exterior, or can be fitted to a pedestal.
Paired with the smart app, the Myenergi Zappi can be controlled remotely, so you can always monitor the device’s usage and protect it from any unauthorised access.
With no need for an earth rod due to in-built PEN technology, the Zappi charger benefits from faster installation which reduces time and cost.
This particular EV charger is able to connect to solar power as its energy source, so you can choose to utilise renewable energy if you have solar panels fitted to your business property. Alternatively, it can be powered by the grid.
The Rolec Zura is the perfect EV charger for your workplace or commercial use. The dual charger technology allows two electric vehicles to be powered at once by a single device.
As an OCPP compliant charger, you have the option to allow users to charge their vehicle for free or require payment for them to charge their car. This can be accessed using a mobile app or RFID technology, whilst the charger itself can be integrated with any back-office software.
Manufactured in the UK, the Rolec Zura dual EV charger has the option of branded and customised fascias should you wish to put your own stamp on the device.
Connecting to the internet via 4G, Wi-Fi or Ethernet, the constant online connectivity allows the charger to keep updated with the latest firmware. The charger can also be monitored and controlled wherever you are, using the mobile app.
With TruePEN PME fault detection, there’s no requirement for an earth rod, thereby cutting down the time and cost of installation.
These sleek Rolev Zura chargers are available untethered with universal charging sockets or can be equipped with type 2 tethered leads.
Ideal for workplaces and car parks, the Intelligent Charging Systems (iCS) twin pedestal charger is a floor-mounted charging device offering two Type 2 sockets so that two vehicles can be charged simultaneously.
Suitable for public usage as well as commercial usage, the iCS EV charger comes with a payment interface and 7” LCD display. With RFID authentication, you also have the option of granting employees access to the charger using this technology. By simply presenting the correct RFID card, they will be able to use the charger to power up their vehicle.
Like many smart chargers, the iCS Twin Pedestal EV Charger connects to the internet via 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi or Ethernet, making it accessible at all times using compatible software or the mobile app. The device itself can receive firmware and software updates automatically so you don’t need to worry about keeping the charger updated yourself.
The beauty of the iCS charger is that an unlimited number can be installed to create your own network of commercial EV chargers.
With no need for an earth rod, this charger can be installed quicker, reducing the time and cost of installation.
We supply two versions of the iCS Twin Pedestal EV charger in Scotland.
The ICSW7CPT EV charger (7kW version) features fast AC charging, providing up to 30 miles charging range per hour. The more powerful ICSW22CPT (22kW version) provides up to 90 miles charging range per hour. Both come with a 3 years warranty.
EV chargers can be powered using electricity from the grid, but did you know that you can use energy generated by solar power instead?
By having solar panels installed at your commercial property, you could reduce the cost of using your EV charger by using solar as the primary power source.
If you’re interested in finding out more about the cost and benefits of having solar panels installed in Central Scotland at your commercial premises, contact our team at ElectroPoint today.
Many of the commercial EV chargers we supply and install in Scotland are OCPP compliant, meaning they can be managed using compatible back office software. This allows you to monitor the usage, cost and payments of your EV charging point. The insights and reporting technology allow you to understand the impact your charging station is making.
With complete control over your EV charger, you can set prices, manage driver access and so much more.
As the chargers maintain a constant connection to the internet, there’s no need to worry about firmware and software updates as they’re done automatically.

From 1st June 2023, Glasgow will be introducing a Low Emission Zone (LEZ) in a bid to reduce pollution and harmful emissions in the city centre.
Vehicles that don’t meet the emissions regulations will be restricted from the city centre. This generally includes diesel engine vehicles registered before 2015 and petrol vehicles registered before 2006, though there are exceptions.
This will be followed by enforcement of a LEZ in Edinburgh from 1st June 2024.
Electric vehicles comply with the requirements and therefore are exempt from any penalty. If you drive through or work in Glasgow or Edinburgh city centre, it may be worth considering switching to an electric vehicle.
There aregrants available for sole traders or those operating a micro-business within 20km of a Scottish LEZ to help fund a switch to electric.
