The home EV chargers we supply and install in Kilmarnock come in a variety of shapes, sizes and styles to suit your desired aesthetic. We have small, compact chargers that are perfect for those with limited space. We even have sleek and stylish metal and wood-effect chargers by Andersen that don’t even resemble an EV charger.

Most of the devices we install are smart EV chargers which means they can be operated using a mobile app. Taking advantage of always-online technology, the EV charger connects to your WiFi and can be accessed wherever you may be using the online app, to control and operate the charger. This is ideal for scheduling your car to charge during off-peak hours when the energy tariffs are lower, saving you money. Some of the chargers also allow you to lock them using the app so no-one can use them without your permission. With access to data reports, allowing you to monitor the usage of your EV charger, you’re in full control of how you use your device. If you’d rather just plug and charge on demand, you can do that too!

If you’d like some advice on the different electric chargers available and which one might be suitable for your car, needs and property, speak to ElectroPoint today. A member of our team will be happy to help.

The Freedom To Drive

Electric Vehicles and Scotland’s LEZ

From 1st June 2023, Glasgow introduced a Low Emission Zone (LEZ) in a bid to reduce pollution and harmful emissions in the city centre.

Vehicles that don’t meet the emissions regulations are restricted from the city centre. This generally includes diesel engine vehicles registered before 2015 and petrol vehicles registered before 2006, though there are exceptions.

Enforcement of a Low Emission Zone in Edinburgh will commence from 1st June 2024.

Electric vehicles comply with the requirements and therefore are exempt from any penalty. If you drive through or work in Glasgow or Edinburgh city centre, it may be worth considering switching to an electric vehicle. There are grants available for sole traders or those operating a micro-business within 20km of a Scottish LEZ to help fund a switch to electric.
