Andersen A3 EV Charger

The latest in the A range of electric vehicle chargers from British brand Andersen is the Andersen A3 EV charger, made in the UK.

Whilst visually similar to the A2, the Andersen A3 is more compact and is only suitable for single-phase properties. It’s still built using robust, premium materials with wood and metal finishes that the brand is known for, giving it the aesthetic edge over standard plastic chargers.

As a home EV charger, the Andersen A3 offers single phase 7kW charging speeds to power up the car from your property. The charging point is wall mounted, making it easy to access in your garage or fitted to your property wall, and is weatherproof so can handle even the harshest of Scottish weather conditions.

The CE certified Andersen A3 charger does not require an earth rod, saving on additional labour costs of installing the charger, and comes with an Adaptive Fuse CT Clamp as standard. The clamp is a safety load balancing device that can dynamically reduce the charger’s power intake to prevent overloading the main electricity supply of your property. The charging point is also solar compatible which means it can be powered using energy generated via solar panels if you have them fitted at your property.

As a type 2 charger, the Andersen A3 is compatible with all type 2 electric cars and plug-in hybrids. The charger comes with a 5.5 metre tethered cable for ease of use, so you don’t need to provide your own cable when charging the vehicle. The charging cable is hidden from view thanks to the design of the unit, presenting a neat and tidy appearance when stored. Simply wind the length of the cable around the unit and conceal the connector end safely in the Andersen A3’s top compartment.

Download the Andersen app and take control of your charger right from your mobile device. Secure your charger from unauthorised use with remote charge point locking, schedule your car to charge overnight, and monitor its usage. You can even control how much solar energy you use each charging session if you’re using solar PV panels to power your charger. The unit itself also features LED status lights so you can tell what mode of operation it’s in, such as whether it’s actively charging and when it’s finished charging the car.

The slick, sophisticated style of the Andersen A3 charger makes it attractive for any household with an extensive range of 13 standard colour options which you can choose from, including Balmoral Blue, Burgandy/Brick, Highland Green, Devonport Navy, Hampton Stone, Kensington Blue, Cornish Green and Racing Green, in addition to the traditional black, white, graphite and grey colours. However, if you’re looking for something a bit different than the standard metal colour options offered, you can upgrade to the Accoya Wood, with a choice of Cotswold Oak, Sorong Teak, French Walnut, and Charcoal, or select a Limited Edition style of Andersen Carbon, Andersen by CALLUM, or a custom colour palette to complement your property.
