The new generation of chargers has arrived with the Zappi GLO – a stylish, compact 7kW EV charger from leading brand, myenergi.

The single-phase, type 2 EV charger comes equipped with a 6.5 metre tethered cable for easy charging, so there’s no need to provide your own. Measuring 350mm x 170mm, this discreet charger can be mounted indoors or outdoors, with the unit IP65 rated (dust-tight and protected against low pressure water jets, e.g. rain or sprinklers) making it durable for outdoor use.

Awarded EV Charging product of the Year 2025, the Zappi GLO is designed and manufactured in the UK. The charger is great for green households as it’s compatible with solar and battery setups with the ability to automatically adjust to maximise renewable energy usage.

With WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity and smart charging features, the Zappi GLO can integrate with your smart and off-peak energy tariffs, like Intelligent Octopus Go, schedules and solar setup (if you’ve solar panels fitted), to optimise your charge for the best rates, helping to lower the cost of using your charger. There’s also a Gridpay feature that rewards users who pause their charge during high demand on the grid.

The Zappi GLO charger even features Dynamic Home Energy Management that protects your electrics by dynamically adjusting the power based on grid import and export.

Using the One app, you can manage your Zappi GLO EV charger, monitor usage and schedule a charge wherever you are using your mobile phone. You can even take control of your solar and battery systems and heat your water – ideal for households that have solar panel systems installed at their property. Or to keep things easy, if you just want to use your charger, you can simply plug & charge.

Do you have numerous users who’ll need access to the charger? With an RFID access key, you can forget pins. Secure access to the GLO charger with a single card and tap to charge. Perfect for flats or apartment buildings or semi-commercial installations, you can add up to 126 user cards for the Zappi GLO charger, each with individual user tracking which can be monitored with the myenergi app.

Zappi EV Charging Modes

Powered by electricity from the grid or by solar power (or both!), the intelligent Zappi charger features three modes to charge your EV’s battery. These include:

Eco Mode Enables power from the grid to assist charging.

Eco Charging

This mode prioritises energy generated by solar power to keep your bills as low as possible. When using electricity from the grid, it will try to take advantage of overnight lower tariffs, but generally it will try to draw power completely from your renewable energy source.

Eco+ Mode Allows only surplus power from the grid, allowing huge savings.

Eco+ Charging

Eco+ charging is similar to Eco mode in that it can draw from both the grid and solar, but continually adjusts depending on how much electricity is currently being used in the home. If too much power is being drawn from the grid, the charger will pause until more ‘free’ solar power is available to continue charging.

Fast Mode – Enable the full charger capacity to be used.

Fast Charging

Irrespective of whether you have solar energy available, Fast Charging mode will aim to charge your vehicle at full power. It will draw electricity from either your solar PV installation or from the grid, depending on what’s available. This mode is for when you need to charge your vehicle in a hurry.
