Approved Local EV Charger Installers in Scottish Highlands & Islands

Though electric vehicles often come with a 3-pin domestic charging cable, home sockets only offer a power output of 2.3kW which means charging your car’s battery takes a long time. By having one of our professional EV chargers installed at your property, you can benefit from 7-7.4kW power – faster charging so you can be ready for the journey ahead.

Having your own EV charger you can use from the comfort of your home and not having to rely on the public ones can save both time and money, not to mention offer peace of mind from ‘charge anxiety’, especially if you live in a remote, rural part of the Highlands or Islands.

We can even fit commercial EV chargers in the Scottish Highlands and Islands with a selection of single or dual 7.4kW or 22kW charging points available for installation at your business premises or car park.

Our team are proud to be approved installers for Tesla, Hypervolt and Andersen EV chargers, and we also supply and fit other brands too, including myEnergi Zappi, iCS, Rolec, Ohme and Zaptec.

Electric Car Chargers Compatible With All Motor Models

The car chargers we supply and fit are Type 2 and suitable for all makes and models of electric cars. It doesn’t matter if you have an electric Toyota, Range Rover, Volkswagen, Ford, Audi, BMW, Tesla or Mitsubishi – the EV chargers we supply are compatible.

Not all car chargers are the same though. Some are tethered, which means there’s a cable permanently attached to the charger, whilst others are untethered so you can remove the cable after use. Then there’s the design of the charging device itself: stylish and subtle, modern and futuristic, or compact and neat. There’s a style to suit all preferences.

The EV chargers connect to the internet to receive over-the-air firmware updates so your device remains active with the latest features. With smart technology integrated, you can use your charger’s respective app on your smartphone or tablet to remotely monitor the usage of your charger and, with some models, secure your charger from unauthorised use.

The best feature of the EV chargers, however, has to be the ability to schedule your car to charge. With many energy companies offering the cheapest rates during off-peak hours, such as at night and in the early hours of the morning, you can schedule your car to charge during these times, thereby lowering your costs. Alternatively you can schedule at a time to suit you, if you don’t want to charge your vehicle straight away.

Browse our selection of EV chargers on our website or contact us to discuss your requirements. We’ll be happy to provide advice on the best devices for your needs and provide you with a no-obligation quote for commercial and home EV charger installation in Wick and areas throughout the Highlands and Islands.

The Freedom To Drive

Electric Vehicles and Scotland’s LEZ

A number of Low Emission Zones have been implemented throughout cities in Scotland, specifically in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dundee.

Vehicles that don’t meet the emissions regulations are restricted from the city centre. This generally includes diesel engine vehicles registered before 2015 and petrol vehicles registered before 2006, though there are exceptions.

If a non-compliant vehicle is caught driving through the zone via ANPR, the driver will receive a penalty charge notice (PCN). The penalty doubles for each subsequent visit to the same LEZ in a non-compliant vehicle, though there is a capped amount.

Electric vehicles comply with the requirements and therefore are exempt from any penalty. If you drive through or work in any of these city centres, it may be worth considering switching to an electric vehicle.

We supply EV chargers compatible with all these car brands.
